13 {THIRTEEN} Layout {CCG 181/Scrapbook Challenges Sketch 243/By the Numbers Challenge}

It was my turn to set the "By the Numbers" over @ Scrapbook Challenges this week so here it is!

Log in & join in if you like - there are always good prizes up for grabs :)

 I used the weekly sketch {243} at Scrapbook Challenges as well, and also the colour combo from Colour Combos Galore this week {181}

I threw in a little extra challenge at Scrapbook Challenges too - to use the technique of cutting a "window" like I did below (where I placed my journaling behind).  See forum thread for full details :)

I wanted to scrap this photo of my son, taken only last week on his birthday, and amazingly enough the colour combo was perfect for it!
I needed to keep things pretty simple considering the page is about & for a 13 year old boy!  But I can't resist pretty things so I just used them in less abundance :)

I am aware that these photos are awful but I had to take them at night when I had finished the layout in order to make it into the challenge on time :)  So flash photography, complete with shadows, is the way it is I'm afraid ;(
The blip you can see in the bottom left corner is actually just the shadow from the resin flower, not a glue splodge!

The "designers' challenge was to use lace or something "filigree" so I used this border punch with hearts to continue the heart theme on the paper ('cos I {heart} this boy)!

I played with my printer last night because this page was the type that really needed journaling & I knew straight away from the sketch that cutting a window for it would be perfect!

Thanks for Looking!  Hope you are all having a really good week!!  I am starting to feel pretty tired I'll be honest, I've had a bit of an adrenaline filled week with hubs away & having to cope with everything alone so thought I may as well make the most of it & keep scrapping & blogging.  I think I'm due for a break soon :)

I love this Helen. Even though it is a boy one, it is still 'pretty' and dainty and looks gorgeous.

Well done again. xx

Fantastic LO! I don't recall seeing you use buttons before. I looooove buttons, never used to, but I'm an addict now.

Gorgeous gorgeous Color Queen, you even pick a photo that goes with the color palette, lovely photography, it is so cool to look at all those beautiful details in close up shots, amazing post!
And I also love your journaling for every layout page you created, that is a wonderful way to preserved all those great memories.
Next - the place where I live
Yes, I live in Las Vegas, the furthest north as you can get, we have the mountains at our backyard, and we have the strips view as well, where you see all those lights even a space ship can see from outer space.
It is only 20 minutes drive to the strips where all the action take place, shows, casinos, great restaurant, but yet, we have the most spiritual environment one ever find, surrounded by mountains and dessert, very quiet and peaceful, pretty cool huh.
Come visit Vegas and we can meet up! : )
